What is a spelling bee?

Can you spell F-U-N! A spelling bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty. Spelling bees help to promote literacy by providing children with a positive goal to work toward and give them a forum to display the fruits of their hard work.

What is the purpose of spelling bee?

The spelling bee is intended to be a fun and friendly contest. We hope that every student will leave feeling proud to have participated. Our purpose is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
