Please join us for our next PTSA Meeting on Tuesday, October 19th at 7:00 PM via Zoom. As always, Mr. Terry will be at the meeting to answer questions. All parents are welcome.

Save the Date - Spooky Spaghetti Carnival on October 29th
SAVE THE DATE for the Spooky Spaghetti Carnival! – We are excited to share that our Cougar Ridge Spooky Spaghetti Carnival will take place on Friday, October 29th, from 6 - 8 PM.  This will be an all-outdoor family event featuring Halloween decorated booths, games with prizes, music, and of course dads serving spooky spaghetti dinner.  This event will follow the latest Covid-19 guidelines. 
Individuals ages 5 and older must wear masks; in addition, people ages 12 and older will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event.  (Please find more info on Covid guidelines here.)  Be sure to take advantage of our early bird special!  Click here to purchase your tickets! 

Reflections Art Contest 

Attention All Artists! Express yourself and use the arts to share your personal Reflections on this year’s theme: I Will Change the World By…

“Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.” – WA State PTA Organization

Volunteer Opportunities

Still looking for Spooky Spaghetti Carnival Volunteers! – We still need more volunteers to help with planning and organizing the carnival.  Interested dads wanting to help with Spooky Spaghetti, please email Mark Mobilia (if you tried to email Mark last week, and received an error, please try again.  We have updated his email address).  Other volunteers interested in sponsoring a Halloween decorated booth with games, please contact Erica Wood.  Please also take a look at our Signup Genius for other volunteering opportunities!

Safety Patrol Volunteers Needed – Cougar Ridge is looking for volunteers to help with Safety Patrol at the two intersections furthest from the school.  Volunteers are needed 8:50-9:15am (daily), 3:40-3:55pm (MTThF), 1:30-1:45pm (Wednesday) and will be provided patrol gear and training.  Please contact Julie Chang if you are interested.

PTSA Volunteers: There are still many important chair positions open on the PTSA for 2021-2022! YOU are important and have the skills we need!  Please contact Julie Chang if you have any questions or are interested in getting involved.

Contribute Pictures to the Yearbook!

We will be collecting photos throughout the year so that we can create a fun and memorable yearbook for the 2021-2022 school year.  Please make sure all photos are of current Cougar Ridge students and please don’t include multiple versions of the same photo.

Our Cougar Ridge Librarian, Mrs. Hembree, has been asked by many families how they can support the school. One new way is our Cougar Ridge Library Amazon Wish List. Recycle! The Cougar Ridge Green Team and PTSA are proud to announce that we have a recycling bin for markers, pens, and pencils. It will be located outside the front door. Please be sure to only put pens, markers and pencils in this box. Thank you for doing your part to help protect our planet!

Volunteering During the 2021-22 School Year
While we value our volunteers in so many areas of the work we do in the Issaquah School District, we also must be mindful of our continued efforts to ensure virus mitigation, so that our students stay in classrooms as much as possible this school year. In a typical year, we welcome as many as 9,000 volunteers into our schools. We cannot reasonably allow nor process that many at this time.
